Privacy Policy

In short: Sober Tracker is designed to keep your sobriety journey on your device. We do not operate an account system, advertising service, analytics service, or developer server that receives your name, sobriety entries, check-ins, notes, or savings information.

Information you add to Sober Tracker

You may choose to enter your name, sobriety start date, previous alcohol spending, personal intention, mood or difficulty check-ins, optional notes, and relapse or previous-streak information. The app uses these entries to calculate your sober time, milestones, estimated savings, and personal insights.

This information is stored locally inside the app’s private container on your device. It is not transmitted to the developer.

Information we collect

We do not collect your sobriety or wellness entries, advertising identifiers, precise or approximate location, contacts, browsing history, search history, or app-usage analytics. Sober Tracker does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

If you email support, your email provider sends the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message contents. We use that information only to respond to your support request, privacy question, feedback, or feature request.

Apple services and subscriptions

Optional subscription purchases, introductory offers, restoration, and entitlement status are handled by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account. Apple provides the app with the product, transaction, and entitlement information needed to display and unlock Premium features. The developer does not receive your complete payment-card or Apple Account credentials. Apple processes its information under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

On-device insights

Personal insights are calculated on your device from the check-ins and streak information you record. Your entries are not uploaded to a developer-operated artificial intelligence, analytics, or profiling service.

Local backups, export, and sharing

You can create local backups and choose from up to 10 recent backups to restore. These backup files remain in the app’s local Application Support directory. They are intended to protect your data when the app is updated, but they are removed if the app and its local container are deleted.

You can also export a JSON copy through Settings. Exported information is handled by the destination you choose in the iOS share sheet. After you export or share a copy, its storage and privacy are controlled by you and the selected destination rather than by Sober Tracker.

Retention and deletion

Your information remains on your device until you change it, delete it through the app, or remove the app. The “Delete all app data” control clears locally stored sobriety information, check-ins, notes, previous streaks, onboarding choices, and related app preferences. Deleting the app also removes its local container, subject to Apple’s device-backup and restore behavior.

iCloud and developer servers

Sober Tracker does not synchronize your sobriety entries through a developer-operated cloud service or an app-managed iCloud database. Your device or operating-system backup settings may separately include app data under Apple’s terms and your personal settings.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell, rent, or share your sobriety entries with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, employers, insurers, healthcare providers, or other third parties. Information you send directly to support may be disclosed only when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect legal rights and safety.

Children’s privacy

Sober Tracker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because app entries stay on the device and are not transmitted to us, we ordinarily have no access to a user’s age or entries.

Health and emergency notice

Sober Tracker is a self-tracking and wellness tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, withdrawal management, emergency monitoring, or professional healthcare. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions or changing alcohol use. If you may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Security

The app relies on iOS application-container protections to limit access to its local information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should protect your device with a passcode and handle exported copies carefully.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when app features, platform behavior, or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date above and communicate material changes through the app or its App Store listing where appropriate.
